MENTOR AKT AND HOT TOPICS COURSE
Dr. Nigel Giam organises Hot Topics Updates and AKT
preparation courses throughout the year to tie in with each sitting.
No crash course agendas, or large group lectures.
You will benefit from peer support within a small group of 3-4 ST
trainees throughout the day.
Mentor Courses prides itself on perfecting exam technique and
problem solving ability within interactive small group work
sessions with experienced and supportive facilitation.
There will be a focus on NICE and RCGP Hot Topic Questions,
Statistics, Critical Appraisal, Image and Data Interpretation. The
course material is reviewed regularly and updated with each
sitting to take in account the most up to date evidence based
medicine and new question formats.The course not only aims at
giving you the best preparation for the AKT but for everyday
clinical practice and knowledge that will equip you for the CSA.
Courses are suitable for ST1, ST2 and ST3 trainees or for more
established GP's who wish to attend an update course. Numbers
are strictly limited to 20 to allow for 1 to 1 attention.

MENTOR CSA
Mentor CSA courses run frequently throughout the year. Don't
leave attending to the last minute! The earlier you attend, the
sooner you will appreciate what it is you need to do in order to
pass!
ST3/GP Registrars attending will benefit from practical hands on
CSA practice with OSCE accredited, professional medical role
players. Our role players are trained to give feedback on the
interpersonal domain of the CSA. In addition all are involved in
Royal College Membership Exams, PLAB and GMC fitness to
practice assessments.
A vast range of cases reflective of the CSA exam will be covered.
There will be a heavy emphasis on perfecting exam technique
around the new marking domains of the CSA and provision of one
to one feedback.
The course will be personally facilitated by Dr Nigel Giam.
Each course will have a maximum of 6 attendees. Everyone will
always be guaranteed at least 4 Rounds of CSA ONE to ONE
Practice on the day undertaking simulated consultations under
exam conditions with both male and female role players covering
physical, psychological and ethical cases.
The aim is simple - to equip you with the necessary consultation
and management skills to deal with anything that walks in through
the door!
There will be a further discount on application for GP trainees who
have attended a previous Mentor course and group discounts are
also available.

MENTOR 1-1 TUITION
Dr Giam offers one to one tuition for the CSA for GPST's who
wish to have more role play on an individual basis.
