Dr Giam has over 15 years of experience in providing teaching for the MRCGP including piloting CSA
courses for the London Faculties RCGP since 2007. He has been a previous RCGP Examiner and has
worked as a Medical Educator in both undergraduate and postgraduate medicine since 1998.
Dr Giam has been a GP Programme Director and Trainer for the St Marys GPVTS since 2008 and
delivers regular CSA training to other GP schemes throughout the UK.
He has taught over 7000 GPSTs for the MRCGP since 2003 and in addition delivers simulated surgery
workshops for the Induction and Refresher Scheme, as well as teaching for the MICGP Clinical
Competency Test.
The St Marys GPVTS has one of the highest success rates nationally in the CSA to date, with a top
UK scorer of 107 in Dec CSA 2014 sitting, further top scorers of 105 in Feb 2015, March 2016,
March 2017, 102 in Oct 2017 and 103 in Dec 2017/Feb 2018/May 2018/ Dec 2018!
MENTOR 1-1 TUITION / SMALL GROUP CSA
Dr Giam offers one to one tuition for the CSA for GPST's who wish
to have more role play on an individual basis.
Role plays are recorded with feedback, played back and analysed
with Dr Giam to hone consultation technique - DVD to take home of
the session.
Applications are considered on an individual basis.
In addition Dr Giam can also offer tailored CSA courses for
applicants from the same training schemes, to allow for flexibility of
course dates and maximal exposure to cases.

Dr Giam has developed an online bank of CSA consultations which will
complement and consolidate approach and technique for the exam.
The cases covered will be different from those on the course and will
encompass ethical scenarios, genetics, diagnostic uncertainty and
high challenge negotiation consultations.

4. A cancellation fee of £30 is applicable in all cases

Winter Courses - Cancellations and Adverse Weather
In the event of adverse weather conditions, the following terms & conditions will apply:
1. In the event that Mentor Medicine LTD has to cancel a course due to adverse weather
conditions, applicants will be offered either:
i) full refund of application fees paid & complimentary code to Mentor Online Consults
OR
ii) transfer to the next available course dependant upon capacity
2. In the event that an applicant cancels or is unable to make the course due to adverse weather
conditions, a cancellation fee of 50% of fees paid will apply.
3. All decisions regarding refunds and course transfers are made at the discretion of Dr Giam
and are final.
